Just-in: a new shipment of luxury Mexican modern pieces by Alfonso Marina has landed at Studio Cavit this month. A seriously good brand that’s caught fire in recent years which will add instant pedigree to any space.

Alfonso started back in 1971 as an expert cabinet maker, handcrafting fine wood furniture. There are now a wide range of pieces ranging from furniture, textiles, lighting and art –made by artisans in timber, and iron, from all styles and periods.

The brand is resonating with consumers of the future, suiting the young and the adventurous, with a range of card tables, chests, trunks, cocktail tables, cabinets, sofas, ottomans, lowboys, side tables, ottomans, vitrines, sofas and benches.

And what finishes. Choose from green in perfect shades of Tuscan, Sienna, Venetian or Lombardo. Then there’s Ivory silver, cognac wood, ivory, antique white or black that mix with contemporary. Alfonsomarina available at studiocavit.com

BOFFI

Boffi has opened a store in Melbourne’s Collingwood, its second in Australia – following the huge success of its standalone Sydney showroom that opened back in 2013 by architect Edwina Withers. Considered one of the world’s leading interiors brands and a benchmark in craftsmanship and design excellence, Boffi Studio Melbourne showcases the brand’s four exceptional product ranges: Boffi’s kitchens, bathrooms and systems, De Padova furniture, MA/U Studio systems and furniture and the recently acquired ADL, specialising in partition systems.

The showroom is located in a former gospel hall with soaring pressed metal ceilings, architectural scale and details.

According to Boffi CEO Roberto Gavazzi, “We are proud to partner with Edwina for our second dedicated Boffi Studio in Australia. Through the people, I have met during my time in Australia I can see that Melbourne is a place where design and innovation is deeply understood and so we anticipate a great meeting of creative minds.”

With Piero Lissoni leading the helm as Boffi’s creative director, notable designers include Patricia urquiloa, Norbet Wangen, Naoto Fukasaw, Nendo and Elisa Ossino.

“It is a great privilege for us to display the De Padova, and MA/U furniture collections besides Boffi,” says Withers, “as they complete the story and allow us to talk to our clients in a more holisitic way”.

Boffi are the global leaders in kitchens, bathrooms, dressing rooms and storage and unsurpassed in their commitment to quality materials, production, innovation and style. 10 Mater Street, Collingwood, (03) 9086 9977, boffi.com
