MAKE THE MOST OF A STAYCATION WITH THE BEST HOTEL DEAL IN TOWN

Luxe rooms from $200 a night.

May 27, 2020

As travel restrictions ease in each state, we loved our staycation at Double Bay’s renowned InterContinental Hotel last week, despite our city pad being only a block away. Not only is it a great break from work from home – mental wellness is essential, essentially tied to relaxation, and what scientists call “life satisfaction”, both improved by a few days off, and enjoying a small sense of freedom, within our own control.

And now has never been a better time to book, with almost half-price hotel rates on offer – starting from $200 a room, usually ($300-$500), plus the possibility of upgrades depending on availability when you mention our name. Scroll down to the end of the story to access special deals right now!

With health and safety top of our minds, we are also thrilled to discover the hotel has rolled out its new ‘Clean Promise’ with enhanced sanitation measures, and heightened standards for hygiene and cleanliness. An important step in these times, to make visitors feel safe. Steps include digitising check-in, reducing paper material, placing hand sanitizers at entrances and in public areas, frequent disinfection of elevator control panels and staircase handrails, plus deep cleaning of kitchen areas and clutter-free rooms.

It’s good to know because cleanliness is the new 800-threadcount sheet, (which of course, you also get to enjoy). Discover so many simple lovely moments…and the joy of the staycation because even short holidays make us feel better, researchers say. It really is the perfect opportunity for life-correcting revelations.

Oh and, you might even grab some landscape design inspiration from the hotel’s central courtyard, pictured.

Call the hotel front desk, mention our name, and enjoy a beautiful room for starting from $200 a room, usually ($300-$500), or even better, $250 a room, including breakfast for two in the Stillery Dining Restaurant, usually $450, until July 31. You’ll need to book before June 30 to secure this deal. An upgrade will be confirmed at the time of booking and subject to availability.

Deals and upgrades are best if you contact the hotel directly on (02) 8388 8388, and hold for the front desk, then mention Melissa Penfold. (Note: booking through hotel reservations means you will be taken to the international arm of the hotel business and not receive deals, benefits, or upgrades for that stay with the hotel’s program.)

The hotel has also created a booking link: Melissa Penfold – Simply click on it and it will direct you the Intercontinental website– then click ‘check availability’ type in your dates and you will then be prompted to the Melissa Penfold room rates offer. Please note guests will need to book 24 hours in advance for their stay for the rate to apply (you wouldn’t be able to book in today for tonight’s stay).

Bear in mind that rates listed here may not be available as they shift frequently. 33 Cross St, Double Bay NSW 2028, (02) 8388 8388, doublebay.intercontinental.com
