In partnership with our friends Living By Design.

March 6, 2019

A sofa that feels like a soul mate. A table that’s made for dinner with friends. One of our 2019 home homemaking goals is to find the streamlined, functional staples of our dreams. A sofa that has to be incredibly comfortable and adaptable. We hope Living BY Design is on your radar…The company is nimble, and are achieve ever-faster speed to market.  A sofa can be in your home tomorrow.

They are satisfying consumer demands with sustainability, and, most important, they are a brand that accurately reflect the Zeitgeist, of what we really want…and have the courage to “self-disrupt” and are emerging as a clear winner.

Here are 5 essential items you will always use: that pulls everything together. These key elements  let you do what you want to do (work, entertain, nothing at all) in exactly the way you want to. The key is focusing on the essential furniture that is for keeps.

And remember one thing: a great space is more alchemy than design because great chemistry is not something you can fake.

A DINING TABLE

No other piece of furniture will serve you like a dining table. It’s there for breakfasts, dinners, conversations, work, projects, homework—basically everything besides sleeping. The Dalton Scandi leg teak dining table is our go-to, $1899.

SOFA, SO GOOD

Choose from simple, subtle sofa designs that are easy to relax in, with lots of nap-friendly cushions you can sink into. You won’t go past Flynn – that is now $2499, (down from, $3999).

A DINING CHAIR

Think of a great dinner party. Do you remember the chairs? We’re guessing no, which means they functioned exactly how essential dining chairs should: They were comfortable, chic, and unobtrusive. We love the white Lecco Hamptons chair, $399, as it suits Australia perfectly.

AN ENTERTAINMENT UNIT

Sentimental keepsakes, family photos, design magazines, and first editions need a home, not a balancing act. We love how Como with its slatted shelves, $1699, is reminsicent of 1970s Palm Springs yet utterly contemporary.

AN OUTDOOR RANGE

Stay ahead of the pack with chic, affordable outdoor furniture that are tough and flexible in all-weather in black or grey that are UV-and-stain resistant. The Black Inizia outdoor range has been a monster hit, since it was recently launched with armchairs, $399, plus barstools, and sofas that will transform your outdoor area. www.livingbydesign.net.au
